JAMES D. PHAM
James D. Pham is a nationally-recognized Immigration Attorney specializing in removal defense, high-stakes bond release hearings, asylum cases, cancellation of removal hearings, adjustment of status, naturalizations and appeals to the USCIS, Board of Immigration Appeals, Fifth Circuit of Appeals, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Pham’s cases have involved high-profile clients prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office and local District Attorney’s Offices for mail fraud, tax evasion, terrorism, drug trafficking, drug possession, alien smuggling, sexual assault, sexual battery, domestic violence, DUIs and more. Mr. Pham has been successful in obtaining bond and parole releases for a majority of his clients detained in maximum security federal detention facilities across the nation and has successfully defended many clients facing deportation for the most serious of crimes categorized as “Aggravated Felonies” under the Immigration and Nationality Act “INA.” Mr. Pham is also active in lobbying for more humane federal detention conditions and expediency of the USCIS process through the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
James is currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the City of Westminster Traffic Commission from 2023 – 2025. He also volunteer his time as the Board Secretary for the Vietnamese American Democratic Club. He previously served as a Community Services Commissioner for the City of Westminster, California from 2019-2021. He also served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Judge Alexander H. Williams of the Los Angeles Superior Court and was a Summer Honors Intern with the Office of Chief Counsel for the Federal Aviation Administration during his first summer in law school. He holds a Juris Doctorate Degree from Western State College of Law in Orange County, California where he was a member of the Law Review and a Merit Scholarship recipient. James also earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Irvine. Mr. Pham is also a member of the National Eagle Scout Association “NESA” and enjoys traveling and biking outdoors.
